2027 watch calendar: fairs, auctions and the dates already known

Watches and Wonders from 5 to 11 April 2027 with Breitling among the new exhibitors, spring sales in Geneva, Geneva Watch Days, the GPHG, Dubai Watch Week: the 2027 watch calendar, separating what is confirmed from what is still to be announced.

Planning a watch year means knowing when novelties are announced, when references disappear and when the major sales set price benchmarks. For buyers and sellers alike, the calendar matters: selling a reference just before the show that might discontinue it, or buying the day after a record sale, does not have the same consequences. Here is the 2027 calendar as it can be drawn up in mid-October 2026.

The 2027 calendar in one table

We distinguish dates confirmed by the organisers from those that are still only a calendar habit. The latter are given by period and will be specified as announcements come in.

Watches and Wonders 2027: new dates, new exhibitors

The most important announcement came at the end of June 2026: Watches and Wonders will take place from Monday 5 to Sunday 11 April 2027, still at Palexpo. The format is changing slightly. Trade days open from the Monday, and the public is welcomed for three days, from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April. The "In the City" programme extends into central Geneva, with exhibitions and presentations outside the show.

Four houses join the show. Breitling, Gallet and Universal Genève will exhibit together, under a single group banner, and the Italian jeweller-watchmaker Damiani makes its debut. Breitling's arrival, until now present at Geneva Watch Days, is the most significant for the market: the Navitimer and the Chronomat will be presented alongside the major houses.

For the secondary market, the question each spring remains the same: which Rolex, Patek Philippe or Audemars Piguet references will leave the catalogue. Rumours start in January; they often prove false. Our review of Rolex 2026 novelties shows how a withdrawal is noticed rather than announced.

Auctions: two seasons, three cities

The rhythm of watch auctions has been stable for years: a spring season and an autumn season, each held in Geneva, Hong Kong and New York. Houses publish their dates a few months in advance, generally when they start accepting consignments.

Points to note for 2027:

  • Geneva remains the first event, in spring (May) as in autumn (November). That is where the most important vintage pieces are presented.
  • Hong Kong concentrates Asian demand, very active on modern watches and independents.
  • New York has grown in importance: Phillips' December 2025 sale set a total record for the United States there, as we recall in our review of auction records for 2025–2026.
  • Online sales take place throughout the year, with more accessible lots and estimates often below €10,000.

If you are considering selling a piece at auction in 2027, allow several months between consignment and payment. A watch consigned in winter will be offered in spring.

Geneva Watch Days, GPHG, Dubai Watch Week

  • Geneva Watch Days: the eighth edition had no dates when this article was published. The 2026 edition ran from 2 to 6 September; see our report. Breitling's move to Watches and Wonders changes the line-up.
  • GPHG: the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève hands out its prizes every autumn, the same weekend as the November Geneva sales. The 2026 edition takes place on 7 November.
  • Dubai Watch Week: presented as biennial, with a next edition expected in 2027; the dates were not confirmed by the organiser at the time of writing.

Preparing a visit to Geneva in 2027

If you are thinking of going to Watches and Wonders in 2027, a few practical points. Public ticketing generally opens a few weeks before the show, on the official website. The three public days concentrate the crowds: Friday is often calmer than the weekend. Geneva hotels are in high demand during show week, as well as in May and November during the auctions. Finally, novelties are published online from opening day: looking at them before your visit lets you target the stands.

Using the calendar well when selling or buying

The calendar is not a speculation tool, but it helps avoid the wrong moments.

  1. Before Watches and Wonders, a reference rumoured to be withdrawn can see its value move on hearsay. Selling in a rush or buying on a frenzy often costs dearly.
  2. Just after the show, highly sought-after discontinued references are at the peak of attention. It is rarely the best time to buy, sometimes a good time to sell if you had already decided to.
  3. During the major sales, records are much discussed but do not change the market value of a series watch. Our guide on how to sell your watch sets out the steps, whatever the timing.
  4. All year round, keep your papers in order: a complete full set weighs more on the price than the choice of month to sell.

Practical information

We will update this calendar as dates are confirmed.

In short

In 2027, one date is already certain, that of Watches and Wonders from 5 to 11 April, with Breitling among the new exhibitors. The rest of the calendar follows solid habits: spring and autumn sales in Geneva, Hong Kong and New York, Geneva Watch Days after the summer, the GPHG in November. Whatever moment you choose to buy or sell, start from a realistic figure: calculate your watch's market value before any decision.
