Tudor Pelagos: price, pre-owned value and references (25600TN, 39, FXD)
Pelagos 42 in black or blue, the left-handed LHD, Pelagos 39, the French Navy FXD, FXD Chrono, GMT and Ultra: what a pre-owned titanium Pelagos is worth in 2026, reference by reference, and why the sales channel matters as much as condition.

The Pelagos is Tudor's "tool" dive watch: a titanium case, ceramic bezel, self-adjusting extension clasp and, on the 42 mm version, a helium escape valve and 500 metres of water resistance. It sells in smaller numbers than the Black Bay, is kept longer, and its market value follows a simple pattern: a clear drop against the boutique price, then strong stability. You still need to know which Pelagos you are talking about, because the family now counts around ten references with very different uses.
The generations, from 2012 to today
The modern Pelagos appeared in 2012. Since then the line has branched out, and each branch has its own pre-owned market:
- M25500TN (2012 to 2015): the first generation, with an ETA-based calibre with date and 38 hours of power reserve, and two lines of text on the dial. It is now a discontinued reference that turns up rarely.
- M25600TN and M25600TB (since 2015): the black 42 mm Pelagos and the first blue Pelagos, fitted with the MT5612 manufacture movement, COSC-certified, with 70 hours of reserve. This is the heart of the market.
- M25610TNL, known as the LHD (since 2016): the "left-handed" version, with the crown at 9 o'clock, red Pelagos lettering and a numbered caseback, a nod to the watches once supplied to the French Navy (Marine nationale).
- M25407N, the Pelagos 39 (since 2022): a 39 mm titanium case, the no-date MT5400 calibre, 200 metres of water resistance and no helium valve. The easiest size to wear.
- The Pelagos FXD: the blue M25707B (2021), developed with the French Navy's Commando Hubert, with fixed bars and a fabric strap, then the black FXD M25717N (2023) with a unidirectional bezel. Added to these are the carbon composite versions: FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing (25707KN, 2023), FXD Chrono (25807KN, 2023, the line's first chronograph), then the FXD GMT (2024).
- The Pelagos Ultra (2025): 43 mm, titanium, water-resistant to 1,000 metres, the most recent.
Before any valuation, note the reference on the warranty card: the M25600TN and the M25610TNL look so alike that a mislabelled listing is common.
2026 value grid by reference
The ranges below come from our October 2026 price surveys. We separate private sales, which make up most of the sample, from prices displayed by certified dealers, which include a warranty and a service. Retail prices are indicative (2025 catalogue list price) and should be checked in a boutique.
| Reference | Period | Indicative retail price | Private sales | Certified dealers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M25500TN (1st generation, ETA) | 2012 to 2015 | discontinued | €2,700 to €3,050 (3 listings) | no data |
| M25600TN (42 mm, black) | since 2015 | ~€5,000 | €3,000 to €3,550 | ~€4,800 |
| M25600TB (42 mm, blue) | since 2015 | ~€5,000 | €2,700 to €3,350 | ~€4,800 |
| M25610TNL (LHD) | since 2016 | ~€5,100 (to be confirmed) | €3,150 to €4,000 | no data |
| M25407N (Pelagos 39) | since 2022 | ~€4,650 | €3,600 to €4,100 | ~€3,800 |
| M25707B (blue FXD) | since 2021 | n/a | €2,850 to €3,550 | ~€4,000 |
| M25717N (black FXD) | since 2023 | ~€4,150 | €3,000 to €3,500 | ~€4,700 |
| 25807KN (FXD Chrono, carbon) | since 2023 | n/a | €3,400 to €3,750 | ~€4,700 |
| Pelagos Ultra (43 mm) | since 2025 | n/a | €4,400 to €4,950 | no data |
Across the whole model, the median of our surveys sits around €3,600, with half of the listings between €3,150 and €4,150. The sample is still small for some lines (LHD, Ultra, first generation): treat those ranges as orders of magnitude. For a dated estimate of your own example, the Pelagos page and the valuation tool refine by year and condition.
What the grid tells us
Three lessons stand out from our surveys.
- The initial [depreciation](/glossaire/decote) is clear-cut. A recent, complete Pelagos 42 resells privately about 30% below its boutique price. That is the price of availability: at Tudor there is no waiting list comparable to that of Rolex sports models, so no premium over retail.
- The Pelagos 39 holds up best. Starting from a lower retail price, it resells closer to it than the 42 mm: its size appeals to a wider audience than divers, and pre-owned supply remains thin.
- The gap between channels is considerable. On an M25600TN, the certified dealer displays about €4,800 while a private sale closes around €3,300. The difference pays for authentication, the warranty and often a service. For a seller, it is also roughly what a professional will not give back to you: we explain why in why the trade-in price is below market value.
Partnership editions such as the FXD Alinghi Red Bull Racing do not escape this logic in our latest surveys: four recent listings sit between €2,850 and €3,200. We look at what these series are worth in our article on partnership watches.
Titanium, condition and the bracelet
On a Pelagos, case condition is not judged as on a steel watch. Bead-blasted titanium marks easily and is hard to restore: polishing would leave a shiny look that is nothing like the original. A deep scratch on a case side or the clasp shows and gets negotiated. Our article to polish or not to polish your watch details what an informed buyer tolerates and what they refuse.
The full set matters more than you might think, because the Pelagos 42 is delivered with two straps: the titanium bracelet with its spring-loaded clasp and a rubber strap. A watch sold without the second one, or without the removed links, loses a few hundred euros. For the FXD, the original fabric strap and its buckle are part of the set. We have put figures on the effect of accessories, brand by brand, in box and papers: impact on price.
Checks before buying
- The ceramic bezel: a chip on the insert means a costly replacement; also check the ratchet works (unidirectional on the 42, the 39 and the black FXD; bidirectional on the blue FXD).
- The helium valve and the [screw-down crown](/glossaire/couronne-vissee) on the 42 mm models: a crown that catches deserves a water-resistance test before payment.
- The spring-loaded clasp: it must extend and return firmly, without play.
- The match between the engraved serial number and the one on the warranty card. Tudor guarantees its watches for five years: a recent card adds value.
- The date of the last [service](/glossaire/revision) on M25500TN models, which are more than ten years old. Our cost benchmarks are in servicing a luxury watch: cost and frequency by brand.
Pelagos or Black Bay?
The question often comes up at the same budget. The Black Bay 58 is more versatile and more in demand; the Pelagos is lighter and more technical. In percentage terms, the Pelagos 42 depreciates slightly more than the Black Bay 58 in our surveys, because it starts from a higher boutique price, while the Pelagos 39 is level with it. To compare with figures, read our article on the Black Bay 58's market value. If your budget is between €3,000 and €5,000, our guide to the first luxury watch places the Pelagos among its rivals.
Selling a Pelagos in 2026
The market is active, especially for the 39 and the black 42. Three tips:
- State the exact reference and the card date: an LHD sold as a "black Pelagos" loses its audience.
- Gather both straps, the box, the card and the links.
- Compare channels: a direct sale brings the most, a dealer trade-in the least but the fastest. Our comparison of sales channels details timescales and commissions.
In France, a Pelagos almost always sells below the €5,000 threshold above which the flat tax on precious items applies; below that threshold, a private individual's sale is exempt. If you live elsewhere, check your own country's rules. The steps are summarised on our sell your watch page.
In short
The Pelagos is not a watch to speculate on: it loses roughly a third of its boutique price on entering the pre-owned market, then moves little. That is precisely what makes it a good pre-owned buy, provided you check the reference, the condition of the titanium and the presence of both straps. Before buying or selling, calculate your Pelagos's market value: the reference, year, condition and accessories are enough to get a range based on our price surveys.
